Jane Ray, for more than 20 years, has illustrated children's stories including ‘The Lost Happy Endings’, ‘Jinnie Ghost’ and Joyce Dunbar’s ‘Moonbird’. ‘The Story of Creation’ won the 1992 Smarties Book Prize and she has been shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Award on five occasions. After leaving art school Jane began designing greetings cards, wrapping paper and posters, but her love of picture books formed the basis of her work. Jane is involved with the In The Picture project which aims to get characters with disabilities into children's literature.
