"I love the web site because everyone likes stories read to them. I taught deaf children for thirty years and often drew on the blackboard to get the story over to the children. Paddington Bear was a great favourite. We enjoyed ourselves but I wish we had had this wonderful website to bring the stories to life for us. In my photograph I am in my favourite sea kayak. It is a great way to travel. With stories we can travel in our imaginations and now deaf children can as well. Wonderful. I love it."

Anne Colledge is an author. Hard of hearing herself, Anne’s children’s stories Northern Lights and Falling into Fear, both feature deaf heroes. Before retiring, Anne spent 30 years teaching deaf children and had a particular interest working with pre-school children who often called her ‘The Toy Lady’ as her car was always full of toys! Anne's grandchildren call her ‘Grandma Surf’ because she loves surfing, canoeing, cycling and swimming!
